Virgil S. Davis, 88, of Atlanta, formerly of Mobile, Alabama died March 16, 2011. Dr. Davis received a Bachelor’s degree from Furman University, a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama, a PhD from the University of Georgia and a ThD from the New Orleans Baptist Seminary. He was a Baptist minister and professor of history at Mobile College (now the University of Mobile) for over 20 years. He is survived by his only son, Philip Davis of Atlanta. No services are planned.
