Virginia N. Nelson Walker

She was born in Nelson, Georgia to Steve and Minnie Nelson on February 28, 1923, one of 9 children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Stakeley Walker, Jr.

She attended Piedmont College in Demorest Georgia. She had been a Deacon at Wieuca Road Baptist Church, former real estate agent and an avid bridge player.

She spent most of her married life as a wonderful Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She was also a very loving and caring friend and volunteer to the Buckhead Christian Ministries.

She is survived by 4 children; Shirley Walker Andrews of Gainesville FL, Florence Walker Record of Ellijay GA, Vinita Walker Bullard of Atlanta, GA, and Edward Nelson Walker of Woodstock Ga. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren and many niece and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 on Monday, November 4, at H.M. Patterson Funeral Home/Spring Hill at 1020 Spring Street NW. A casual service will be held by the family, in the chapel, immediately following the visitation.

A private family interment will be held at Westview Cemetery.
