

William “Billy” Shoaf, 71, of Atlanta died Monday, April 9, 2012 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Becky Buffington Shoaf; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Allison & Micha Baumann of Atlanta; and sister, Carole Shoaf Little of Lawrenceville; two nieces, a nephew, and a host of cousins and extended family members. Son of the late Betty Griswell and William C. Shoaf, Sr. of Atlanta, Mr. Shoaf grew up near the Home Park area of Atlanta and lived near midtown the last thirty years of his life. A former Lockheed employee, Mr. Shoaf took an early retirement after twenty-eight years of service at Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technology. He was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church and a former member of Loring Heights Baptist Church where he was a faithful volunteer for Building and Maintenance projects.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Spring Hill Chapel (404-876-1022) with Reverend Dan Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Thursday morning from 10 AM to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Atlanta Community Ministries, 7 Piedmont Center, 3525 Piedmont Road, S-420, Atlanta, GA 30305. Private interment to follow.
