William “Steve” Steven Taylor, 62, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Friday, March 25, 2023. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 2, 1960 to Elizabeth “Beth” Willingham Taylor and Richard “Joe” Josiah Taylor.
Steve was raised in Atlanta and graduated from The Galloway School in 1978. He attended college at Georgia Southern University, graduating in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Following graduation from Georgia Southern, Steve returned to Atlanta and became active in commercial real estate. In 1986 he founded The Taylor Company which specialized in commercial industrial space development and leasing. He continued to run The Taylor Company until the time of his passing.
A lover of the outdoors, Steve was a long-time, avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time at his lake house on Lake Keowee, watching his sons play baseball, and playing with his dogs. He was a member of Capital City Club in Atlanta and Brunswick Country Club in Brunswick, Georgia.
Steve is survived by his wife of 30 years Lynn Taylor; his sons Joe and Patrick; his brother Rick and his wife Margaret; his niece Brantley (Jack) Geraghty and nephew Richard. He was predeceased by his son William Steven Taylor, Jr. and parents Beth and Joe Taylor.
After a private service, a reception will be held for family and friends at Capital City Club in Brookhaven, Georgia on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
