The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday evening at Morgan Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 P.M. Funeral service will held at 12 Noon the following day (Friday) at the funeral home.
Rev. Ray Wain will officiate.
Interment to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Wain was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. Alvin was a dedicated member of Central Avenue Baptist Church since 1974 where he served as a deacon, chairman of the deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, Training Union Superintendent, and was instrumental in worship service- playing guitar or bass. He worked for the City of Gadsden in the Engineering Department, retiring in 2004. Alvin also coached men’s and women’s softball and RA track. Alvin touched many lives by the exemplary life he lived. Mr. Wain was preceded in death by his parents, Acton and Mae Wain and sister, Syvola Battles.
He leaves behind;
Loving wife of fifty-seven years, Sue Wain.
Sons- Ellis, Leslie (Donna), and Justin (Crystal) Wain.
Brother, Donald Wain.
Along with eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Ellis Wain, Leslie Wain, Justin Wain, Jeremy Wain, DJ Nation, and Ray Shew.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lankford and Wayne Elkins.
Heartfelt thanks are extended to the nurses, doctors and staff of Amedisys Hospice for the committed and compassionate care you’ve shown to our family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity or church in memory of Alvin.
