Amy Lowe McAfee

Funeral Services for Ms. McAfee will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Altoona Walnut Grove Cemetery. Brother Josh Noojin will officiate.

Amy graduated from West End High School and continued her education at Jacksonville State University, where she earned a degree in education. She then took time off to raise her two children, and later returned to her alma mater where she taught English Language Arts until her retirement. After retirement, she worked as a secretary for College Heights Baptist Church in Glencoe. Amy loved spending time with her great-nieces and nephews, the beach at Cape San Blas, and day trips with her dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother John Edmondson and Wanda Edmondson.

Amy is survived by Rex McAfee; her son, Nicholas McAfee; her daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Eric Burgess; her brother, Charlie Edmondson and his wife Connie; nieces and nephews, Chris, Lindsey, Bella, Ryan, and Shane; special great-nieces and nephews, Ryder, Saige, Amos, Louie, and Jyna; sisters-in-law, Alice Hamby, and Dale McClendon; and brother-in-law, Phillip McAfee.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
