Born on April 6, 1967, to Rufus and Helen Champion, Angela was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and a graduate of Etowah High School. She dedicated many years of her life to caring for and educating young children as a Head Start preschool teacher, a role that reflected her patient and nurturing spirit.
Angela’s greatest joy in life was her family. She especially cherished her four grandchildren, who brought endless happiness to her days. She was known for her love of fashion, clothing, and jewelry, and she always enjoyed expressing her vibrant personality through her style. Angela was also a wonderful cook, and her children fondly remember the special meals she prepared for each of them and their families. She made it her mission to ensure that every child and grandchild had a favorite dish waiting whenever they visited.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Helen Champion; her brothers, Richard Champion, Jay Champion, David Champion, and James Champion; and her sisters, Fay Champion and Diane Tumlin.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughters, Heather Reed and Michelle Vice; her beloved grandchildren, Haylei Lipscomb, Keira Lipscomb, Antonio Reynolds, and Bentley Vice; a host of cherished nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to ACG Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Angela’s illness. A special thank you is also extended to David and Becky Miller for their kindness, friendship, and assistance during this difficult time.
Honorable pallbearers will be Antonio Reynolds, Bentley Vice, Mark Stephenson, and Larry Hopkins.
No services are scheduled at this time; however, the family will announce a Celebration of Life at a later date.
