

Mrs. Jean Bowling was born near Winfield, Alabama September 8, 1934. She married Jack E. Bowling when she was almost seventeen years old. They lived most of their lives in Alabama, but made California their home for a few years. Married for fifty-one years, Jean was a wonderful Christian homemaker. A very active member of Rainbow Church of Christ for over sixty years, she taught many children’s and ladies’ Bible classes. An accomplished seamstress, she made beautiful clothing for herself and many others. After being a homemaker for many years, she became an entrepreneur manufacturing and selling rag-rugs to clients across the country.
Her husband Jack proceeded Jean in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Katherine Lee Bowling Henderson.
Mrs. Bowling is survived by her son John Bowling (wife Cheryl), son-in-law T. R. Henderson, grandchildren: Della Bowling Barber, Anna Lee Henderson (Danny), Wilson Bowling (Jessica), Rebecca Van Etten (Chris), great-grandchildren: Cosette Henderson, Dylan Barber, and Sunny Barber (and their father Patrick), multiple foster great grandchildren: B., M., A., D., and nephew Roy Harris.
The family would like to thank all the workers at Gadsden Health and Rehab, Oak Landing, Cherry Creek Village, and all the members at Rainbow Church of Christ for love and kindness you showed our loved one.
