Betty Jo Osborn

Betty was born on March 1, 1933, in Attalla, Alabama, to Forman and Ruby Bynum. She married Joel Osborn on March 20, 1951, and they shared 63 and a half years of marriage until his passing in 2014.

She was a charter member of Stowers Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Etowah High School Class of 1951.

Betty Jo was known for her feisty personality, but those who knew her best understood that she was fiercely devoted to her family. She expressed her love through the many home-cooked meals she lovingly prepared and shared with them. She took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Osborn; her son, Gregory Osborn; her parents, Forman and Ruby Bynum; and her siblings, Ruby Sue Pence, Guy Bynum, and Eddie Bynum.

Betty is survived by her children, Renee Osborn, Wyman (Carla) Osborn, and Nanette (Scott) Waldrup. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Gardner, Olivia (Christopher) Cox, Gilda Osborn, Dalton Hopper, Taylor (Davian) Clark, Rachel Beth Waldrup, Laney Osborn, and Macey Osborn; her great grandchildren, Alyssa Gardner, Natalee Gardner, Chloe Divine, Ellie Cox, Tyler Gardner, Tanner Gardner, Anna Hopper, Amelia Cox, Leonidas Clark, and Lucian Clark; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 11:00 to 1:00 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1:00, with Bro. Bert Cothran officiating. Burial will be held at Shiloh Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gardner, Christopher Cox, Dalton Hopper, Davian Clark, Paul Hopper, and Brett Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Osborn Brothers Foodservice.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Kelsey Hill and the staff of AGC Hospice, as well as Regency Pointe, and especially thank caregivers Sandy Gulley, Regina Herron, and Selena Morton for their care and dedication to Betty. You three cared for her tirelessly and gave Betty, and our family, peace of mind.
