Funeral Services for Rev. Tolbert will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Blount Memory Gardens next to his wife. Bro. Tony Holland to officiate.
Rev. Tolbert was a lifelong automotive mechanic and spent some of that time delivering the Birmingham News, as well as servicing boats at the Riverside Marina.
Preceded in death by his parents, Earsie and Nell; his wife, Zella, of 65 years; brothers, Gordon and Glenn; sister, Pauline; and great-granddaughter, Bella Grace.
He is survived by his children, Sharon Hyde (Oneonta), Matthew (Lisa) Tolbert (Oneonta), Carol (Tommy) Wright (Blountsville), and Sue Tolbert (Cullman); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family members.
Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
