Brenda Kaye Elrod

Brenda Kaye Elrod, 72 of Gadsden passed away October 17, 2021. Memorial Service will be at 2p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Faith Worship Center in Glencoe with Rev. Mark Gidley officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 until 2p.m.

Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and church. She was a great woman of faith. She loved to spend her time doing volunteer work for the community and church. Brenda retired after 42 years from Gadsden Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Elrod; parents, Artis and Reba Decker; sister, Lynn Parker; and brother in law, Gene Elrod.

She is survived by her son, Joel Scott (Melissa) Elrod; daughter, Jody Elrod; grandchildren, Stella Walker and Owen (Danielle) Mackiewicz; sisters, Nona (Jimmy) Bridges, Lissa (Blake) Perkins; brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Decker; sister in law, Frances Elrod and Gina Moses; along with numerous special nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special thanks to Rev. Mark Gidley and all her church family at Faith Worship Center, Dot and Benny Battles, Jimmy Brackett, Spencer Harris, Encompass Hospice Staff, and all her coworkers and friends in surgery at GRMC.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Faith Worship Center Youth Scholarship Fund in honor of Brenda.
