Carolyn graduated from Etowah High School in 1956 and married Jerry Dobbs that same year. They shared 58 years of marriage before his passing. She worked as a banker in the Gadsden area for 35 years. A longtime member and pianist at Rockledge Baptist Church and later a member of First Baptist Church of Attalla. She loved reading, working word puzzles, gardening, traveling with her husband and her senior group, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dobbs; her parents; and her sister, Linda (W.C.) Hall. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Talton and Emily (Tim) White; grandchildren, Matthew (Emily) Talton, Nick (Brianna) White, Lauren Talton, and Sarah White; and great-grandchildren, Elliot and Beck Talton.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ethan Lake, Enhabit Home Health, Affinity Hospice, Dr. Dan Englert, and Clearview Cancer Institute.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Southside, Alabama. Rev. Earl Mitchell will officiate services. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
