Charles Otis Jones

Funeral will be at 1:00pm Saturday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Charles “Charlie” Jones, 85, of Attalla who passed away November 28, 2017. Bro. Keith Christopher will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel will be directing the service.

Mr. Jones was a truck driver for Baggett Transportation and a house painter. He was a Christian and was of the Church of God faith. He was a loving and kind father, grandfather and great grandfather who dearly loved and cherished his family. Coach Charlie taught and trained Golden Glove boxers and teams in both Attalla and Gadsden. He fought amateur and professional boxing himself.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ann Harris Jones; parents, Otis and Tiny Jones; brothers, James, Gerald and Mitchell Jones and sister in law Margie Jones.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Greg) Mayo, sons, David (Patsy) Jones, Tommy (Patti) Jones and Darrin (Westina) Jones; sister, Linda Davidson; brother Mack Jones, brother in law, Jack (Maggie) Harris; sister in law Peggy Jones; grandchildren, Candi Morgan, Amy Nelson, Scott Roberts, Ashley Jones- Ledbetter, David Charles Jones, Memory Ann Gaskey, Codi Bishop, Kristy Ann Lacy,, Collin Russell and Misty Tooley;

Greatgrandchildren, Conner, Torie, Austin, Kloie, Elizabeth, Will, Josey, Tiffani, Samantha, Rayley, Mira, Oliver, Brantley, Jenna and Holdyn.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Jones, Scott Roberts, David Charles Jones, Matt Morgan, Michael Ledbetter, Conner Morgan, Austin Roberts and Brian Davidson.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6-8pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
