Charles Donald Phillips

Funeral service will be at 1pm Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Steve Phillips officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 until 1pm. Burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

The family has requested all who will to wear Alabama or the color red in honor of Charles favorite football team.

Charles was a loving husband, Dad and Pawpaw who loved Alabama football, Dirt Track Racing, the Atlanta Braves and watching westerns. He lived most of his life in the Gadsden area and he retired from American Lumber. He loved his animals especially his best friend Chase but most of all he loved his beautiful wife of 61 years, Brenda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Duffie and Ella Phillips; brother, Freddy Phillips.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Phillips; children, Steve Phillips, Sherry (Jeff) Hilton, Jeff (LaDonna) Phillips, Angie Phillips, and Karla Phillips; brothers, Billy (Betsy) Phillips, Kenneth (Patsy) Phillips; sisters, Barbara (Butch) Moulds and Karen (Johnny) Beard; 22 grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, Parker, Cruz, Savannah, Haley, Caleb, Kameron, Audie, Lani, Jordan, Lynden, Lucas, Amber, Courtney, Zach, Chris, Cinthya, Faith, Tyler, Ty, Kristina; 14 great grandchildren, Paisley, Caden, Karson, Cannon, Hux, Brycen, Aubree, Daylin, Harper, Kynlee, Jasmine, Madison, Zaddy and Carden.

Pallbearers will be Audie Murphy, Caleb Daugherty, Tyler McNabb, Tyler Garmon, Lucas Phillips, and Kameron Daugherty.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Caden Jones, Karson Jones, Parker Gillespie, Cruz Phillips, Brent Staude, Cannon, Hux and Brycen Murphy, Carden McNabb, and Daylin Farmer.
