He was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Eagan High School; as well as Buck’s County Technical School for Metallurgy. He married the love of his life, Joan (Randall) Roby (51 years) on October 6, 1972. He started work at Fairless Works US Steel in Fairless Hills, PA until 1992 when they relocated him and his family to Ashville, Al where he continued to work with Fairfield Works US Steel until retiring in 2004 from steelwork.
Shortly after, he took a job as a janitor at St. Clair County school system until 2017.
He enjoyed life on his 45 acres of farm raising cattle, becoming an Alabama beef master, and tending to the goats and chickens. He was a master baker and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to just sit and listen to music (classic rock, The Rolling Stones, and The Beach Boys) while having a book or crossword puzzle in his hands. He enjoyed going to Starbucks and catching up with friends over coffee. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagle. Most of all, he loved to travel the world and the states with his wife, the love of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Roby, sons Kyle Roby; Kirk Roby, and Keith Roby (Darlene);grandchildren, Courtney(Trey), Logan Roby,and Cole Roby ,and 3 great grandchildren; sisters Kathy (Joe) Shields; Patty (Glenn)Gragailla; and Carol Roby; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately with the family.
