Delvin Hopper, of Reece City, Alabama passed from this earthly life Thursday, September 8, 2022. Delvin was born May 8, 1941, in Altoona, Alabama to Joe and Lillie Hopper.
Delvin attended Etowah High School and retired from Machine Products, Inc., Attalla. He had a lifelong love for cars and was always helping friends and neighbors with their engine problems. While he was working at a car garage in Collinsville, he met his sweetheart, Irene in 1962. After marriage, they lived in Cave Springs and Reece City, where they raised three children. He spent many hours boating with his children on the river. He greatly loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lawson and Lillie Nan (Hidgon) Hopper; Siblings, Carl, Sue, L.J., R.B., Belle, Ben, and Myrtle; In laws, William and Bertha Wehunt.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Wehunt), of fifty-nine years; children, Pamela Zundel - Bluffdale UT, Joey (Sherilyn) Hopper – Riverton UT, and Keith Hopper – Reece City, AL. He was blessed to be the grandpa to eight grandchildren, Samantha Wallis, Daniel (Kitzia) Zundel, Benjamin (Madison) Zundel, Colton (Katie) Hopper, Cameron (Sabrina) Hopper, Haley (Daniel) Hopper, Connor Hopper, and Ashley Hopper; five great grandchildren, Camille, Kaylum, Adalyn, Amelia, and William; A host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm, followed by Funeral Services beginning at 2:00 pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel, Attalla. Interment will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens, Rainbow City.
Pallbearers will be Connor Hopper, David Harris, Lawson Hopper, Robbie Wehunt, Daniel Browning, and Johnny Ford.
