Donald H. Gurley

Funeral Services for Mr. Donald H. Gurley, age 91 of Gadsden, will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dale Hollingsworth officiating. A private family burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gurley passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023 in Jacksonville. He was a graduate of Glencoe High school and followed on to Trade School, specializing in TV Audio and Radio repair. Mr. Gurley accomplished the title of Assistant Scout Master. He was a member of Glencoe First Baptist Church. He retired from Flowers Baking Company after 22 years of service. Mr. Gurley faithfully served the community, volunteering his time after retirement at Glencoe Senior Citizen Community Center, delivering hot meals to the home bound.

He is survived by his children, Alan Gurley (Diane), Susan Farmer, Kent Gurley (Violet), Amy Alldredge (Joey) and David Gurley (Lisa), his brothers, Gene and Glenn (Brenda) Gurley, a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. Gurley and his parents, E.E. and Loudale Gurley.

Active Pallbearers will be: Adam Gurley, Barry Hubbard, Jason Gurley, Asher Gurley and Tyler Gurley.

Chuck Hubbard will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospic of Alabama or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
