Donard Wayne Gore

Funeral services for Mr. Gore will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Chapel, in Attalla, AL. The family will receive visitors in the Chapel from 12:00pm until the time of the service at 2:00pm. Rev. Tony Holcomb will officiate. Mr. Gore will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA., 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 1:30pm EST.

From an early age, Mr. Gore learned sheet metal work, making well buckets. The knowledge of sheet metal carried him through his retirement. At retirement he was teaching at a technical school in South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elrod Gore; parents, James Walter Gore and Hattie Bell Chambers Gore; brothers, Harley, James, Ras, and Ed; sisters, Bernice Ruth, Maureen, Mary and Frances; sons, Greg Gore and Larry King; and grandson, Justin Gore.

Mr. Gore is survived by his daughters, Rita Gore Dowd (Roy), Lita Gore Baird and Miria King-Garner (Rick); son, Joe Gore (Page); 12 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses and other staff members of Shepherd’s Cove Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Daddy.
