Donna was born on June 7, 1954 in Boaz, Alabama. She worked for and managed Bruno’s/Food World for the majority of her career until later sharing in the establishment and running of Fish’s International Machine Service, where she worked until retirement.
Donna married Dale, the love of her life, on September 14th, 1996. She taught him (a Yankee) all about Southern family, food, and traditions, and in exchange, he showed her the world. They enjoyed traveling, both together and with several of their friends, making memories to be told over and over again, and cherished for those who shared in them. They nurtured and grew their family, built a home, established a business, and became shining examples to all that knew them in their love of each other and life. Donna was the matriarch of her family, her closeknit Lake Vista family, and the “First Lady” of their Coosa River family. She enjoyed celebrating life with her family and friends, whether it was hosting in her home, on her deck overlooking the river, at neighborhood get togethers, or on “Governor’s Island” boating on the river. While she could be the life of the party, Donna was also the trusted friend that would tuck away from the crowd to be a shoulder for others’ to lean on, and gain her advice and life lessons, be encouraged, and most of all, loved by her. She was always there for everyone, no matter the circumstance and enjoyed taking care of others. She never missed the opportunity to go to the beach, on a cruise, or to the casino, with her friends and loved ones. She loved sunrise and sunsets, pictures, music, and her people. Donna truly lived life out loud and each day to the fullest.
