Funeral service will be at 1pm Monday, August 15,at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Dorothy Lee Norwood, age 89, of Alabama City, who died Friday August 12, 2016. Rev. Johnny Maxwell and Bro. Donny Hollingsworth will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Forrest Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel will direct service.
Mrs. Norwood was a member of Carlisle Church of God. She loved her Lord and Savior and held many Prayer Meetings at her house.
She is preceded in death by her husband John D. Norwood, parents Etta and Wheeler Kitchens, and brother Hubert Kitchens.
She is survived by her sister Nettie Hooks, Gadsden; brothers Robert (Louise) Kitchens, Ashville and Carl (Gloria) Kitchens, Cullman; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Harden, Joey Hooks, Cody Hooks, Mike Munn, David McDonough, and Phillip McDonough.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 9th floor GRMC; Dr. Carpenter; Staff of Southern Care Hospice, especially Blake RN and Patsy; caregivers Kathy, Sue, Marylyn; and special friend Mary Clark.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:30 am until the hour of service.
