Born in Nottingham, England, Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Jack Edward Williams of Rainbow City Alabama. Jack met Dorothy in England where their story began, and after many years of moving with the Air Force, stateside and abroad, they retired in Rainbow City calling it home for the next several decades. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family.
Dorothy had a gentle spirit and a generous heart, always putting others before herself. She found joy in simple pleasures—knitting, caring for her home, and spending cherished time with her family. She enjoyed many years driving the school bus for the Rainbow City schools, along with school trips, and band events. Dorothy was a devoted member of White Springs Baptist Church, where she found strength in her faith and a deep connection with her church community. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she was a constant source of love and support in their lives.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Jack Williams (ret. Air Force MSGT), brothers Cliff Harvey, Roy Harvey, Douglas Harvey, George Harvey, sisters Doreen Hill, Ann Davis, mother and father Lily and Leonard Harvey, and son-in-law Donald Powell.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, Debbie Williams, (ret.) Army Lt. Col Bruce Williams (Tammy), and Janet Yon (Steve), sister Jacqueline (Harvey) Matthews, brother Tony Harvey, along with several grandchildren (Kevin Fathi, James Anderson, Jacob Anderson, USAF Major Anna (Williams) Zampese, USAF Capt. Alex Williams, and Jaden Yon) and great-grandchildren (Austin, Cameron, Cash, Jack, Lily, Oakley, and Payton) who will carry her memory forward.
Pallbearers are Kevin Fathi, James Anderson, Jacob Anderson, Alex Williams, Austin Johnson, and Jaden Yon. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Taylor, Cameron Johnson, and Earl Davis.
