Trigger left home at the very young age of 15 or 16 to make it on his own. He got into roofing for a few years and met the love of his life at the age of 18. They were married by age 19 and had 4 children and raised 3. He found his calling at the age of 30 in paint and body work and this is how he took care of his family and raised his kids. In 1981, he was rated number 1 body man in Alabama. He was the hardest working man we know, and the kindest. He was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back. He worked from before the sun came up and until way after the sun went down.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Sarah Maton; his wife, Mary Francis Maton; sons, Jimmy Maton and Tony Maton; great grandson, Jacob Ward; and great granddaughter, Madison Stephens; brothers, Johnny Paul Maton, and Carliss Maton; and sisters, Lucille Reeves, Mildred Jenkins, Bonnie May Grahams, and Irene Maton.
Trigger is survived by Larry and Vicki Adkison, Mike and Peggy Jones, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; brothers, William Maton, Ralph Maton, Robert Lee Maton; and sister, Edna Maton, and family friend, Ricky Stephens.
Pallbearers are Carl Stephens, Richard Stephens, Ricky Stephens, Lee Stephens, Nathan Dobbs, and Lil-man Dobbs.
Honorary pallbearers are Jalyn Dobbs and James White (Punk).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morgan Funeral Home or Vicki Stiles.
Special thanks to Aveanna Hospice, Morgan Funeral Chapel, Rainbow Memorial Gardens and to all who reached out to us during our time of sorrow.
