

Esther Emerson Dunston, 82 of Steele, AL. we to be with the Saviour on March 11, 2022 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was at home with her daughter by her side when the Lord called her home. She was born in Chattanooga, TN on April 11, 1939 to James A. and Lee Emerson.
She was a member of the Steele Church of the Nazarene where she served as Missionary President and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a devoted member of her church and a great example of what a Christian and God loving woman should be. She started the first organized girls’ softball team in Steele, AL. in 1972, she also served as their coach.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Audrey Michele Dunston; sister, Charlotte Kilgore and sister-in-law, Phyllis Emerson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Dunston; parents: James A. & Lee Emerson; brothers: James Emerson, Amon Emerson and Robert Emerson and sisters-in-law: Norma Emerson and Joyce Emerson.
Funeral services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. will Bro. James Kilgore officiating. Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.
