Glenn Oliver Ellis Sr.

Funeral will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Carnes Chapel FCM Church for Glenn O. Ellis Sr., 78, of Altoona who passed away on August 27, 2018. Rev. Jerry Wood and Rev. Johnny Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in Carnes Chapel Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel will be directing the service.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Nina Jo Ellis; brothers, Bobby and Billy Ellis; sister, Judy Skidmore and daughter, Lisa Morgan. Mr. Ellis retired after 30 years of service as a live haul driver at Tyson Foods. He was a member of Carnes Chapel FCM where he was in charge of brotherhood. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Ellis; son, Glenn Ellis Jr,; daughter, Tiffany (Shad) Garmon; grandchildren, Shadrick, Dalton and Olivia Garmon, Ethan and Dylan Ellis; sister, Etta Mae Dooley ; sisters in law, Dell Ellis, Jackie Zelsdorf, Iva Walton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Pastors Jerry Wood and Johnny Maxwell and members of Carnes Chapel FCM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm-8pm Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Ellis will lie in state from 1pm-2pm Friday at the church.
