The family will receive friends during a memorial visitation from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla.
Allen was born in Rock Island, Illinois where he resided for the majority of his life before becoming a resident of Gadsden, Alabama.
Allen was a very talented carpenter who ran his own contracting service for several years. He was a millwright with over ten years experience journeyman with USWA as well as NCCER certifications. He worked for several companies; Oscar Myer, Adrian Carriers and Casey Industrial as a supervisor and more recently a GMM of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Allen constructed the majority of his very own home which he was very proud of and constantly perfecting. He loved playing pool, to which he held over twenty trophies for leagues he played in while in Illinois. He loved the water and any sports or activities involving being on water. He was a Vikings fan and also had a love for NASCAR- Joey Logano was his favorite driver, being a Ford man. He enjoyed visiting with his grandkids and taking them to do fun activities.
Those preceding him in passing include his sisters, Mary Lynn and Pamela Kay.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory;
Wife, Melissa “Terri” Smith. Daughters, Danielle Norman (Husband, Jacob) and Jennifer Smith. Parents, Harold ,Sr. and Mary Smith. Siblings, William “Bill” Smith (Wife, Sue) and Barbara Thirtyacre (Husband, Steve). Grandchildren- Savannah, Zachary, Layla and Jordyn Thompson. Mother in law, Theresa Homer (Husband, Ben). Father-in-law, David Albano. Along with a host of extended family and friends.
