Helen was part of the Greatest Generation. She was born in 1924 and was only 4 when her mother died. She was then raised by her father and his parents. Her formative years were while growing up in Birmingham in the Great Depression. She met and married Jimmy Countryman as WWII approached. She soon followed him around the country through his Naval training and preparation for the war. This was followed by anxious waiting for the duration of the war, praying often and always worrying. Following the war, she transitioned to the role of supportive wife, bearing and raising 3 precious children while settling in Steele, AL. She lived a long and beautiful life that was best exemplified by the family that she loved so much. She devoted her life to supporting the love of her life, her husband, and their family that extended through four more generations when she passed. Her success was their success, and their success was her legacy.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, WL Kinman and Claudia Kinman, and by her husband, James E. Countryman.
