Horace was a hardworking man who dedicated many years to his work as a painting contractor. He was known for his strong work ethic and, above all, for his loving and compassionate heart. Horace was a man of faith who had accepted the Lord as his Savior. He cared deeply for his family and the people around him and will be remembered for the love, kindness, and warmth he shared with others.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his mother, Vandora Holliway Ward; his father, Guy Ward; his son, Jeff Ward; and his sister, Mellissa Ward Nance.
Those left to cherish his memory include his companion, Marie Ward; his son, Michael Ward; his daughter, Crystal Miller; his sister, Gail Ford; his brother, Ted Ward; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Douglas Cemetery.
Horace's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His loving spirit, compassionate nature, strong work ethic, and faith will never be forgotten.
