He is survived by two sons, Eric and Jason Daniel; five grandchildren, two brothers; Howard and David; one sister, Gail Robertson and many nephews and nieces.
He attended Etowah High School and was a disabled veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Antioch Church of Christ.
Sonny had many occupations including aircraft mechanic, millwright, carpenter, siding contractor, but worked mostly as an independent owner and operator truck driver. He resided in many locations including Philippine Islands, California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Illinois, and Tennessee. His past hobbies included skeet shooting, scuba diving, skiing, fishing and he was a licensed amateur ham radio operator.
After retiring he was a longtime resident of Gallant, AL. He loved working with his church, his lodge, gardening, and tending his goats. He was loved dearly by all who knew him and will be greatly missed and long remembered.
Graveside services will be at 11a.m. Friday, November 16, 2018 at Conn Cemetery in Gallant, AL with Bro. Chris King officiating. Morgan Funeral Chapel directing.
