Scott was born on March 8, 1964, the second of four children to Neal Franklin Davenport and Judy Nell Golden Davenport. He was a 1983 graduate of Etowah High School and was employed by Midwest Logistics for over 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Neal Franklin Davenport, and his beloved mother, Judy Nell Golden Davenport.
Scott is survived by his two loving children, Christen (Bryan) Mann and Josh (Jessie) Davenport; and his cherished grandchildren, Makaylee Mann, Memphis Mann, Kloie Davenport, and Jagger Davenport. He is also survived by his partner, Menica Davenport and her family that he cared deeply for; his siblings, Keith (Rhonda) Davenport, Kelly Davenport, and Donna (Dewayne) Steapleton; and many adored nieces and nephews.
Before all, Scott was a dad, a companion, and a grandparent. He embodied the uncle who used aggravation as his form of love. Always sealed with a big smirk just to let you know he was being playful. A person who could be so loud and quiet at the same time. A man who had to duck anytime he walked into a room. Not a hurry in the world. Those who truly knew him, knew what a soft gentle giant Scott Davenport was.
Scott was a personality all his own and full of heart. He was the kind of man you never quite knew what to expect from, but always knew you were loved.
He had a special bond with his granddaughters, found freedom in riding his Harley, and enjoyed unwinding at night with Days of Our Lives. Those who knew Scott best will remember him for his quiet strength, playful spirit, and the deep love he had for his family.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Pallbearers for Scott will be: Bryan Mann, Patrick Keel, Darin Long, Mark Wallace, Heath Glenn, Brian Freeman. All of whom held their own special place throughout his life.
