

Jerry was born on August 1, 1948 to Wendall and Audrey Alexander. He graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1966 and soon after married the love of his life, Peggy Taylor. Jerry bravely enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country in the Vietnam War, stationed on the U.S.S Paul Revere. After returning home he joined the Gadsden City Police Department, reaching the rank of Lieutenant before retiring. He then worked at the Anniston Army Depot for 20 plus years. He finished his years of service working for the City of Gadsden as security at City Hall.
Jerry’s favorite pastime were spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and watching Alabama football. Roll Tide Baw Baw!
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Alexander; his brother, B.J. Alexander; and his daughter in law, Dana Alexander.
He is survived by his sons, Scott (Kimberly) and Chris (Christina); grandchildren, Jenn Alexander, Kristen (Jeremy) Alexander, Eli (Annabelle) Alexander, Maddie Alexander, and Taylor Alexander; great grandchildren, Kallie and Jackson Warren; sisters, Patsy (Raymond) Sprinkle, Joan Gilbreath, and Paula (Terry) Nelson; a host of loved nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Johnny Parker, Faye Gary, and Michael McCarver; and faithful three legged companion, Bo.
A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date by the family.
