

SFC Jerry Lynn Holloman, after serving his country for 32 years, began his new life of service to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 12, 2025. A visitation will be held on November 15, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory, located at 625 Gilbert Ferry Rd SE, Attalla, AL, with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM officiated by Brother Colton Penrod. A committal service is scheduled for November 15, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 12:15 pm at New Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 60 New Welcome Rd, Altoona, AL 35952. Military Honors will be presented by the US Army and Masonic Rites will be rendered by Boaz Lodge 546.
He was born in Concord, North Carolina on March 4, 1949 and attended Long School until he joined the Army July 1, 1966. He was stationed at Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville where he met and married his wife, Linda Harper Holloman, and moved to 909 Egypt Mountain Road, Altoona, AL.
After a tour in Germany, he joined the Alabama Army National Guard, where he served as the Training NCO at 1st Battalion 152 Armor Division in Attalla. He transferred and retired from Headquarters Co, Gadsden in 2000. During his time at HQ Co. he attended and graduated from Faulkner University in 1995. He also served several years as an auxiliary deputy sheriff for Etowah county.
Jerry joined New Welcome Baptist Church and has been a member for 55 years. He was a member of Boaz Masonic Lodge 546 for over 50 years and a Zamora Shriner for many years where he served on the Children's Hospital transport team.
Jerry is preceded in death by his Parents, Paul and Cora Holloman; Brothers, Robert and James Holloman; Sisters, Mary Bost, Rosa Broadway, JoAnn Earnhardt, and Betty Holloman.
He is survived by his Wife, Linda Harper Holloman; Son, Chris Holloman; Daughter-in-law, Sylvia Holloman; Grandchildren, Allysun (Scott) Beavers, Jake Holloman, Colton (India) Penrod, Jade (Jake) Wilemon, Addison Penrod; Great-grand children, Fisher and Micah Beavers, Emerald Hilburn, Asher and Zander Penrod, Kaleigh, Tytan, and Jeremiah, Arrow Wileman; Sister, Marie Stegall; Brother, Roger Holleman; Legal ward, Kenneth Roberts (Doobie); Special friends, residents of the Episcopal Kyle Home; and a large host of nieces and nephews.
