Funeral services for Mr. John A. Graber will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Morgan Funeral Chapel with Chris Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at Plantation Memorial Gardens, 3345 S Live Oak Dr, Moncks Corner, SC 29461.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Diane Graber; son, Kenneth Graber (Sharon); daughter, Carrie Gallagher (Chris); grandchildren, Peyton Smith (Stetson), Bryce Graber, Alexis Wamble (Ethan), Emma Gallagher, and Caleb Gallagher; brother, Raymond Lee Graber; and nephews, Raymond Graber (Ann) and Scott Graber; brother-in-law, Johnny Rodriguez; and sister-in-law, Gail Rodriguez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Frances Graber; great-grandson, Harrison Hoot Smith; nephew, Timothy Graber; and sister-in-law, Jo Ann Graber.
Mr. Graber had a strong work ethic and enjoyed his career in medical imaging. After retirement, he took pleasure in traveling. He was a talented singer and musician who enjoyed playing piano. He was a member of the Oak Brook Boys Quartet in South Carolina. He also spent much time playing cards with anyone willing to sit down with him, especially his grandchildren. Over the years he served as a song leader at seven different churches and as an Elder at two. He was very active in church activities with The Hilltoppers in South Carolina. He was a member of Gadsden Church of Christ. He will be dearly missed.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Childhaven Children’s Home in Cullman, Alabama, or to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
