John Clayton Myer, 85 of Southside passed away May 23, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 12p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Plunkett Cemetery. (Hwy 176 in Collinsville) Pastor Doug Baker will officiate. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory in charge of arrangements.
Clayton was a retired farmer and truck driver. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was known by many as “Uncle John”. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Myer; and his wife, Rachel Miller Myer.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Myer; sons, Phil (Julie) Myer, Tim (Betty) Myer, Wayne (Shannon) West; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Mary Ellen Comer; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Snoopy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Way of the Cross Ministries.
