Joseph Hood

Joey was a family man, when he wasn't working he was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a retired fire captain who dedicated 27 years of service to the City of Attalla. Joey and his wife Naomi were married for 37 years. He graduated from Etowah High School Class of 1979. Joey was known to most as Papa Hood. His legacy will live on and he will always be loved and missed but never forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Frank Hood Jr. (Bunk), mother, Florence Neonta Grant; step father, Steve Grant; grandparents, Joseph Frank Hood Sr. and Sadie Hood, Clyde Williams and Lucille Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Muir Hood; son, Joseph Neal Hood; daughter, Kelsey Grace Hood; grandchildren, Malia Ann Hood, Nayla Jade Hood, Adonis Demitri Hood, Kyree Devonte Holland, Tyerice Deveon Baise Jr.; brother, Randy F. Hood; nieces, Carla Campbell, Brooke Nichols, Allison Nichols, Samantha Phillips, Lauren Hood; and constant companion, Pedro.

No services will be held per his wishes. The family will plan a celebration of life for a later date and time.

Honorary pallbearers will be the City of Attalla Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any pet rescue foundation, or to the Local Union 2152 of Attalla Fire Department.
