Leois was born November 1, 1928 to Louis and Stella Hartline. She lived in Alabama City and moved to Chandler Mountain when she was 14. There she met and later married her husband Emuel Smith. She worked in the lunchroom at Chandler Mountain School for many years where she fed and loved hundreds of Chandler Mountain's children. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Church and especially loved the music and her Bible study. Her favorite things were reading. reading and embroidering. She was known for her
quilts and made many for family and friends, and her big Sunday lunches, where anyone was welcome.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emuel Smith; father and mother, Louis and Stella Hartline; father in law and mother in law, George and Eula Smith and brothers, William Hartline and Maril Hartline.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Clark) Rogers, Clara (Jerry) Reeves; sons, Danny Smith, John (Tammie) Smith, Dave Smith and Joe (Matt) Smith; brother, Larry (Vickie) Hartline; grandchildren, Casey (Chris0 Liscinsky, Kyle (Kelli) Reeves, Bradley (Angela) Smith, Mitchell Smith, Alicia Smith and Clint Smith; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Special thanks to Robbie Martinez and the staff of Gadsden Health care and Rehab for the special care of our mom.
There will be no visitation.
