Linda was born on July 28, 1945 in Mobile, AL. to Larkin and Georgia Mae Edmondson. She grew up in Montgomery, AL. where she attended Robert E. Lee High School. She went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree from Memphis State University in Education, and then a Maters Degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She spent over 30 years teaching Elementary education. Most of her teaching years were spent in Ashville Elementary School where she made many lifelong friends.
After retirement, Linda spent most of her time gardening, watching Gameshow Network, Puzzles, and spending time with her family at the pool or by the river. Her favorite thing to do was follow Clay Aiken on his tours all over the country. She loved Clay and his music and made many friends from all over the world in their fan club called the “Clay Mates.”
She was preceded in death by her husband George Beal Sr., parents, Larkin and Georgia Mae Edmondson; and sister Kathy (Truett) Moseley.
She is survived by her son, George (Patty) Beal; sister, Sue Edmondson; granddaughters, Lauren (Drew) Floyd, Lyndsay Beal, Lauren (Jace) Fry, and Kayleigh Noelle Watkins (Adam Nelson); chosen grandson, Nathan Walker; great grandchildren, Georgia Reese, Hayden, and Duncan.
Pallbearers will be Drew Floyd, Adam Nelson, Mike Alfred, Brian Peterson, Todd Davis, and Farley Templeton.
Linda loved being “Tickio” to Lauren and Lyndsay and her great grands. She was so very proud of her son and grand’s accomplishments and enjoyed spoiling them all. Linda loved the lord with all her heart. She was a blessing to all that knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center CCU for their compassion and care during this time and CenterWell Home Health for their services over the last few years!
