

Funeral services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Friday, November 21, 2025. The family will receive visitors in Parlor C from 12:00 pm until the time of the Chapel service at 1:00pm. Rev. Daniel Barkley will officiate the service. The family will have a private graveside service at Rainbow Memorial Gardens, Gadsden, AL.
Ron was born in 1942, in Henderson, Tennessee located in Chester County. He graduated from Chester County High School and went on to attend Freed Hardeman University. After attending college, he enlisted in The United States Navy. Ron served his time and once he was honorably discharged, he eventually was hired by Western Electric Company and moved to Gadsden, Alabama. He retired from AT&T at the age of 59.
Ron was an avid sports enthusiast and was one of the Biggest Tennessee Volunteer Fans you would ever meet. He and his wife, Vickie loved to spend time on the Coosa River enjoying the boat and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Kennedy; stepsons, Jeff Mayo and Jody Camp; parents, Lloyd and Marie Kennedy; sister, Glenda Milligan; brother, Danny Kennedy; and niece, Valerie Watrous.
Ron is survived by his daughter, Amy Gilley (Jason); sister, Ann Lowe (Jerry); grandchildren, Dylan Stone (Kelsey), Colton Stone, Kourtney Ford (James), and Lex Mayo; great grandson, James Cain Stone; and his soon to arrive great granddaughter, Baby Girl Ford.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. KJ Shaw and to the transplant team at UAB for allowing us 15 more wonderful years.
