Mamie Lou Blevins, a devoted wife and mother, native of Fayetteville, North
Carolina and resident of Glencoe, Alabama died after a lengthy illness on December 16,
2020 at the age of 69.
Mamie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Danny Blevins; her children, Michael
(Merry) Blevins and Timothy (Leah) Blevins; granddaughter, Natalie Kate Blevins;
brothers, James Peele and Bonnie Peele; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved
Yorkie, Dolly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilton and Maxine Peele;
brothers, Paul Peele and Billy Peele; sister, Betty Jean Ramos; and grandson, Matthew
Rowan Blevins.
Mamie was a loving, stay-at-home mom and Sunday school teacher. She was a
member of James Memorial Baptist Church in Gadsden and later attended Oak Grove
Baptist Church after she and Danny moved to Glencoe. Mamie was a successful small
business owner and Senior Consultant for BeautiControl prior to becoming ill. She was
also involved with many civic organizations like Altrusa International and The Woman's
Club of Gadsden. She will be remembered for her generosity and kind spirit
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice Anniston, the Nurses and aides who
lovingly cared for her, and numerous friends who checked on her daily.
The family will hold a private Memorial Service. Arrangements by Morgan Funeral
Chapel and Crematory.
