November 28, 1934 – August 31, 2020
“I love you” were her last words and favorite phrase as our dear Manjuba left this earth to find peace in heaven.
She passed peacefully having lived a full and happy life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Manjuba will be forever remembered for her ever present loving smile and wonderful personality. Throughout
her life she absolutely loved people and really enjoyed feeding her visitors. She always cooked extra food in
case anyone dropped in. She saw the best in people and never had anything negative to say about anyone.
Manjuba loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. She was also a great care-giver to her bed-ridden motherin-
law in Uganda and later in London, her father-in-law.
She is survived by a large family including her three sons Ghanshyam (Nanda), Narendra (Ragini), Dilip
(Jyotsna), six grandchildren Ajanta (Tejas), Anuj (Ashley), Vishal (Rakhee), Vijal (Raisa), Delaura (Nirav),
Aakash (Puja) and two great grandchildren Aria and Charles. She also leaves behind the great love of her many
extended family members and friends as well as her brother Shashikant (Mina), and sisters Vimuben, Sudhaben
(Rajan) and Villasben.
Born in Uganda, she lost her mother at age 2 and was lovingly brought up by her maternal uncle and aunt
Maniba in Bakrol, India. She had very fond childhood memories of growing up with her cousins in Bakrol – our
late Chandumama and Indumama. She then moved to Uganda and married Babubhai in 1952 where they lived
and raised their family until they moved to London, England in 1970. They both worked in England while
educating their sons and seeing them marry. They moved to the United States in 1993 to join their sons. They
had their own home in Tampa but spent time with their sons until Babudada passed in 2009. A couple of years
later, Manjuba moved to Gadsden where she was lovingly cared for by Nanda and Ghanshyam and got to spend
some quality time with Nanda’s parents (Manhardada and Shardaba) whose company she greatly enjoyed.
The family would like to specially thank and acknowledge all the wonderful and loving caregivers at Gadsden
Health and Rehab Center where she lived for the past 18 months. Manjuba felt really at home there and relished
the loving care and attention they provided.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your favorite charity or local animal shelter.
Due to current health and safety concerns, the funeral will be private. We hope to arrange a celebration of her
life when it is safe to do so.
