Born on August 9, 1930, Ozella was a lifelong resident of Gallant, where she lived a life defined by faith, humility, and an unwavering love for her family. A graduate of Ashville High School, Class of 1948, she dedicated her life to caring for her home and those she loved as a homemaker.
In 1953, she married the love of her life, Morris Boatwright. Together they built a beautiful family and shared many happy years before his passing. Ozella’s greatest joy was her family. She was blessed with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her children, Annette (Johnny) Keener, Walter (Michelle) Boatwright, Laura (Mike) Stone; daughter in law, Rhonda Boatwright; five cherished grandchildren; five treasured great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morris Boatwright; her parents, Melton Wood and Dona Wood; her son; Dan Boatwright, granddaughter, Rachel Davis; three sisters; and one brother.
Ozella found joy in the simple things in life. She loved tending her petunias and working in her garden. She especially enjoyed giving ice water to her beloved dog, Ms. Harley, who was her faithful companion. Those who knew Ozella would remember her as humble, gentle, and just mischievous enough to keep everyone smiling. Her quiet strength, warm heart, and unwavering love for her family were the hallmarks of a life well lived.
