

Funeral will be at 2:00 on Wednesday August 16, 2017 at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Margaret Ann Barnes, 73, Steele, who passed away on Sunday August 13, 2017. The Reverend Jimmy Harrison and Bob Handley will officiate.
Mrs. Barnes was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and they were the joy of her life. She faithfully supported them in all of their activities. She loved to cook and she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker most of her life and she worked in the alterations department at Martins Family clothing for over 19 years. She was a faithful member of Steele Baptist Church for over 45 years. She was one of the original members of the Hospitality Committee, a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School class and she worked in the children, youth and various church departments for many years.
Mrs. Barnes is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Flora Ingle; sisters, Imogene LaPlant and Lorene Hill; and her beloved nephew David “Rover” Walker.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 55 years, Robert Barnes; daughter Kathy (Bryan) Hiland; grandchildren, Brooke and Baylor Richey, Kayla and Mason Hiland; brothers, Bud (Flora Lee) Ingle and Ray (Norma) Ingle; sister, Grace (Bill) Barnes; Close sister-in-law, Barbara Walker; Special nephews Jeff(Lynn) Barnes and Greg (Mary)Walker; she was also “MawMaw” to her great nieces and nephews; Nikki (Emma) Wilkerson, Hunter Barnes, Zach Walker, Wesley Walker, Dalton Walker, Derrick Walker, and Hannah Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Steele Baptist Church Van Replacement Fund. Pallbearers will be Charles Bearden, Steve Nuss, Denny Wilcox, Don Richey, Tim Richey and Steven Kellett.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Kristen Hawk and all other staff of Amedisys Hospice. Thanks also to the staff at Coosa Valley Health Care.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 Wednesday prior to the service.
Graveside service will immediately follow at Steele Cemetery.
