Margaret Rutledge Batchelor

Funeral Services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel, Attalla, AL. on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Visitation in the Chapel will be from 12:00pm until the time of the Service at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Elliott; and her nephew, Rev. David Bankson to officiate.

Margaret was born in Birmingham, AL to Jodie and Danah Rutledge. She attended Etowah High School and she was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church. Margaret worked various department stores and ended her career at Estes Civic Center Nursing Home as an Activity Director in Birmingham, AL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Danah Rutledge; sons, Robert Garrard and James Garrard; daughter in law, Vicki Batchelor; four sisters; and one brother.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Larry (Kaye) Garrard and Johnny (Pam) Batchelor; special grandson, Wade (Emily) Batchelor; sisters, Mildred Marchman and Dot (Bobby) Snow; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren,

Pallbearers will include Terry Snow, Tony Snow, Mason Batchelor, Daniel Batchelor, Wade Batchelor and Adam Garrard.

Honorary Pallbearer is Bobby Snow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cherry Street Baptist Church at 520 Cleveland Ave, Attalla, AL 35954.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Marian Manakil, and Riverview Nursing Staff, Heather and Scottie.
