

Born in Jefferson County, Alabama, Martha spent most of her life in Gadsden, where she always created a warm loving home. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She lived her faith with devotion, humility, and a sincere desire to serve her community.
Martha cherished her family above all else- especially her beloved husband, Giles Roy Compton, and her 7 children. She also took great pride in owning and operating her own Bridal business in Attalla, Alabama, Formals and More, finding joy in her work and in the many opportunities it gave her to serve her community.
She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Martha will be remembered for her kindness and the love she offered so freely. She will be forever remembered, loved, and deeply missed.
A Memorial service will be held at Morgan Funeral Home, 625 Gilbert Ferry Rd., Attalla, Alabama, on Monday, November 24th.
The family viewing will be held at 11:00am and receive visitors from 12:00pm until the time of the service at 1:00pm. Following the service, Martha will be laid to rest at Conn Cemetery in Gallant, Alabama.
She is survived by her sons, Roger and Scott Compton, and sister-in-law Terri Presley Compton, and daughters-in-law Tamessa Wood Compton, Becky Rains Compton, and Sara Compton.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Zachary Compton, Justin Compton, Cameron Compton, Kevin Compton, Alex Compton, Seth Compton, and great-grandson, Dre Compton, Noah Compton.
