Mary Alice Butler Layfield

Funeral Services for Mary Alice Butler Layfield, age 79 of Ashville who passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2021, will be held at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church in Pinson on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Layfield was a loving mother and grandmother, she loved being with her family. She enjoyed going out to eat, crocheting special baby blankets and giving advice. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Odenville but enjoyed visiting other area churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband Foye “Coot” Layfield and two children Vickie Layfield Redish and Hoyt “Bo” (Brenda) Layfield.

Survivors include sons: Rick (Patty) Layfield, Jim (Cheryl) Layfield and Charlie (Becky) Layfield; daughters: Mary “Penny” (Mural) Patterson, Shirley (Keith) Kline and Charlene “Dee” (Mike) Griffith; eighteen grandchildren: Jeff, Bill, Jake, Joseph, Shane, Tiff, Jess, Nick, Ryan, Joey, Marie, Matt, Johnnie, Rachel, Casey, Gunner, Kayla and Crystal; 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
