It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Susan Taber of Gadsden, AL announce her sudden passing on May 14, 2019 at the age of 68 while vacationing at her second home in Gulf Shores. Ms. Taber was preceded in death by her parents Col. David Taylor and Zadie Wilson Taber, brother Michael Taber. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Jayne Taber Llull; children Molly Fielding (Michael Schefano) and Taber (B.J.) Fielding; grandchildren Jae Taber Fielding and Sophia Schefano; nephews Taylor Llull and Michael Taber II; cousins Nancy Becker, Tracey Becker (Perry) Towns; Todd Becker; Edwin (Kay) Gann, and many others; Special friends Noni Rabbani and Joy McCartney. She was a graduate of Gadsden High School, class of 1969. Susan earned a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Education from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, where she was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She retired from teaching from the Attalla City School system after 30 years of love and dedication. Susan had a passion for dancing, gardening, spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Etowah County Master Gardeners, The Antiquarian Society of Gadsden, Retired Teachers Scholarship Committee and The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. We would like to give a special thanks to the Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue Team, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, and the special team at Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola. A service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 22, at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Rainbow City, AL; with a Celebration of Life following.
