On September 3, 2017, Mary Ruth Walker, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Once again, she is happy and whole. She no longer has dementia or sickness. She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She gave herself freely to make life easier for her family. She loved dearly all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed their visits greatly. She loved everyone, and if you visited her, you most likely left with a gift.
She had a very generous kind spirit, always putting others needs above her own. She was a very talented homemaker, seamstress, decorator and cook. But her main joy in life was raising her children, and taking care of her husband and home. She truly shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met. She left her family with a treasury of wonderful memories, and a great example of how to live a life filled with the love of Jesus.
Her daughter, Anita Walker Kiser preceded her to heaven. She is survived by her loving, faithful husband, Edward Lowell Walker of 70 years; her daughters Linda (Cliff) Cole, Julie Roberson, and son Joey Walker; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grands.
She was a member of Reeds Memorial Baptist Church. Being a true believer in prayer, she consistently asked everyone to pray for her even during the difficult days of dementia. She enjoyed visits from Brother Baily, who came and prayed with her often.
Visitation will be Thursday, Sept 7, 2017 from 12-2pm and service will be at 2pm at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Attalla. Burial will follow at Gallant First Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Bailey will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America in honor of Ruth Walker at PO Box 600 - Doylestown, PA 18901.
