Mary Sue Wood passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. She had resided in Etowah County since 1963. Some of her favorite pastimes were: spending time with her loyal pup (Cleo), crocheting, baking, and making candy –– she was an accomplished candy maker and enjoyed sharing these desserts with family and friends over a cup of coffee and laughter. She was strong, fiercely independent, and fought against her illnesses until the end.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amil and Jewel Wood, and brothers, Wendell and Donald. The family is especially grateful to her best friend, Terry Boyd, the caring staff of Alacare, and the compassionate private sitters who made her last weeks more comfortable.
A private family memorial will be held.
We would like to share her famous Peanut Butter Fudge Recipe and if you make this, please share it with laughter, coffee, good friends, and family.
