Meldie Jeraldine Boggs

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Morgan Chapel, for Mrs. Meldie Jeraldine Boggs, age 80, of Steele, AL. Brother Alvin Turner will officiate. Burial will follow at Deerman’s Chapel Cemetery in Steele. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Meldie was a lifelong resident of Chandler Mountain. She was a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church. She also visited Mt. Lebanon and Chandler Mountain Church. Meldie loved to sing in the choir. She enjoyed being a caregiver to others, always putting others before herself. She loved to read her bible and to write in her journal. Meldie also enjoyed working with her flowers, dancing, cooking, baking, making her special fudge that she loved to give to others, and most importantly spending time with her family that was very dear to her heart. She truly lived life to the fullest.

Mrs. Boggs is preceded in death by husband, Earl Boggs; infant daughter, Shelia Diane; parents, Claud and Martha Deweese; brothers, Carlos and Ray Deweese; sisters, Linda Glass and Geneva Deweese; daughter-in-law, Teresa Boggs; and son-in-law, John Bates.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Bates (Todd Payne), Stoney Boggs (Rita), Robert Boggs, Kathy Duran (Javier), Sherry Valdez (Jose), and Karron Mandujano; grandchildren, Jason Sherrell (Laura), Justin Worthington (Jessica), Mariah Worthington, Josh Hubbard (Sally), Brandon Boggs (Becca), Jose Duran, Byran Duran, and Diego Duran, Rachel Ragland (Davin), Briana Mandujano, Chris Duran, and Edgar Duran, and Jovanni Valdez; great grandchildren, Ethan, Sherrell, Kaitlyn, and Tucker Worthington, Hagan, Ryleigh, Dallas Gray, Gunner and Anna Hubbard, and Sacred Ragland; sister, Judy Dorsey; brothers, Tim Deweese (Joni); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Justin Worthington, Jason Sherrell, Brandon Boggs, Josh Hubbard, Aaron Valdez, Todd Payne, Wesley Reneman, Bryan Duran, and Christion Duran.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses, staff, and Doctors at CCU Riverview Regional.

The family will accept friends from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the funeral home on Saturday.
