Melissa Renea Link, 55, of Augusta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025. She was born on October 20, 1970, in Gadsden, Alabama, to the late Kenneth Whisenant.
Melissa is survived by her mother, Betty Sue Whisenant, and her sister, Michelle Baker.
Melissa married the love of her life, Paul Link, in August 1989. Together, they built a beautiful family and raised two sons, Vincent Paul Link, born in 1990, and Victor Evan Link, born in 1992.
Melissa earned her master’s degree in psychology and was admired for her intelligence, compassion, and dedication to helping others. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering strength.
A funeral service will be held at Rainbow Memorial Gardens in Gadsden, Alabama, at 2 p.m., and is officiated by Brother Sammy Odell. Interment will follow at the same location. Pallbearers will be family members.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her best friend Trish, whose friendship and care meant so much to Melissa in her final days.
