Michael Jason Grant Lee was a loving husband, father, son, brother and Uncle G. He left this world on May 6, 2021 at age 53.
Grant never met a stranger. His personality of love, compassion, and belief in others made him extra special. His personality reflected love, compassion, and being the number one jokester. He grew up in Southside and graduated in 1986 from Southside High School. He later married the love of his life and soulmate. From this love, God blessed him with two precious children that were his pride and joy. He attended Riverbend Baptist Church. He taught AWANAS and Sunday school before his illness. He was employed with AT&T for 15 years. He coached baseball and softball for many years and he loved every kid he came into contact with. He was very passionate about coaching and always instilled in his players to believe in themselves and their abilities to perform. No matter what he was coaching he always had a great relationship with his players.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Tracy Lee; son and best buddy, Hayden Lee (Tori); daughter, Kayla Lee, his baby girl; loving parents, Michael and Barbara Lee; sister, Keisha Thompson (Kevin); niece Karlee Thompson; nephew, Cody Thompson; great nephew, Mason Thompson and father and mother in law, Gene and Mary Munn.
There to meet him in Heaven is his baby he never held; grandparents, Clyde Boling, Betty Cruise; and Hoyt and Lettie Lee; aunt, Carol Lee Godwin and three cousins, Dale Godwin, Kendra Boling and Kristal Lee.
Pallbearers will be Jason Knight, Andrew Oldham, Brady Lankford, Dylan McRae, Jared D'eath, Nolan Chastain.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Lavon LaCount.
Special thanks to Lisa Tuck, Tommy Bellew, Brian Haskins, Chelsa Fadley, Amedisys Home Health, and Dr. Anthony Metcalfe.
God graciously blessed him with seven and a half years after his illness to cherish his family and continue to create beautiful memories. The best blessing for our family is knowing his love for the Lord and knowing he is rejoicing in Heaven.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm-3pm Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
